    Image enhancement and restoration is pre-request of computer vision. The distortion and degradation of image suffered the process of pattern matching and quality of image. Wavelet is very important transform function play a role in image enhancement and image de-noising. The concept of wavelet used as soft thresholding and hard thresholding. A processing of data through wavelet is very efficient in process of neural network. In this paper we discuss the proposed algorithm for image enhancement based on self organized map network and wavelet transform. Basically self organized map network is unsupervised training mechanisms of pattern, due to this reason the processing of network is very fast in compression of another artificial neural network method. And the combination of wavelet and self organized map network have great advantage over conventional method such as histogram equalization and multi-point histogram equalization and another conventional technique of image enhancement

    Development of novel high-performance six-axis magnetically levitated instruments for nanoscale applications

    This dissertation presents two novel 6-axis magnetic-levitation (maglev) stages that are capable of nanoscale positioning. These stages have very simple and compact structure that is advantageous to meet requirements in the next-generation nanomanufacturing. The 6-axis motion generation is accomplished by the minimum number of actuators and sensors. The first-generation maglev stage is capable of generating translation of 300 ??m in x, y and z, and rotation of 3 mrad about the three orthogonal axes. The stage demonstrates position resolution better than 5 nm rms and position noise less than 2 nm rms. It has a light moving-part mass of 0.2126 kg. The total power consumption by all the actuators is only around a watt. Experimental results show that the stage can carry, orient, and precisely position an additional payload as heavy as 0.3 kg. The second-generation maglev stage is capable of positioning at the resolution of a few nanometers over a planar travel range of several millimeters. A novel actuation scheme was developed for the compact design of this stage that enables 6-axis force generation with just 3permanent-magnet pieces. Electromagnetic forces were calculated and experimentally verified. The complete design and construction of the second-generation maglev stage was performed. All the mechanical part and assembly fixtures were designed and fabricated at the mechanical engineering machine shop. The single moving part is modeled as a pure mass due to the negligible effect of the magnetic spring and damping. Classical as well as advanced controllers were designed and implemented for closed-loop feedback control. A nonlinear model of the force was developed and applied to cancel the nonlinearity of the actuators over the large travel range. Various experiments were conducted to test positioning, loading, and vibration-isolation capabilities. This maglev stage has a moving-part mass of 0.267 kg. Its position resolution is 4 nm over a travel range of 5 ?? 5 mm in the x-y plane. Its actuators are designed to carry and precisely position an additional payload of 2 kg.     Effect of ethanolic extract of Vitex negundo leaves on experimentally induced inflammatory bowel disease in albino rats

    Background: Ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn’s disease (CD) are collectively known as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Pathophysiology of IBD is not known with certainty. Immunological processes and reactive oxygen species (ROS) have been proposed to contribute considerably to development of tissue injury. Some of the intestinal and/or colonic injury and dysfunction observed in IBD is due to elaboration of these reactive species. Commonly used drugs, in particular sulfasalazine and its active moiety 5-aminosalicylic acid, are potent ROS scavengers. The present study was carried out to evaluate the effect of ethanolic extract of Vitex negundo (EEVN) leaves on experimentally induced inflammatory bowel disease in albino rats.Methods: The rats were divided into four groups of six animals each. Group A and group B received gum acacia per orally, group C received EEVN in dose of 500 mg/kg/day per orally, and group D received 5-amino salicylic acid (5-ASA) in the dose of 100 mg/kg/day per orally. All the animals were pre-treated with respective drugs (volume of drugs was kept constant at 10 ml/kg) for five days, along with the normal diet. On fifth day animals were kept fasting for 12 hours (overnight) and IBD was induced next morning in Groups B, C and D by administration of one ml of 4% acetic acid solution transrectally (TR). Group A (normal control) received 0.9% normal saline transrectally (TR) instead.Results: The results have been shown that EEVN has significant activity against experimentally induced IBD when compared to the experimental control, with near normalization of colon architecture both macroscopically as well as microscopically. Tissue oxidative stress was reduced with significant improvement in tissue levels of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT). Also, significant improvement in levels of myeloperoxidase (MPO) was observed.Conclusions: It is concluded that ethanolic extract of leaves of Vitex negundo has got potent activity against experimentally induced IBD due to its anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties

It is prone to decreased stability, lower bioavailability, and lower absorption rate due to various environmental, processing, formulation, and gastrointestinal circumstances of the human body, and is being extensively researched for improvement in functional meals. Enhanced thermogenesis (heat production), enhanced fat oxidation, greater muscular glucose absorption, decreased hepatic fat content, and increased faecal fat excretion are further advantages. The purpose of this review is to highlight the pharmacological benefits of Epigallocatechin-3-gallate and to express the potential of EGCG and the necessity of further research on this therapeutic compound to expand its use in various food industries

    Correlation of diabetes complications with blood pressure variability

    Introduction: India is suffering from an epidemic of noncommunicable diseases. Type 2 diabetes and hypertension are two lifestyle diseases which are often coexistent. The present study aimed to assess whether blood pressure (BP) variability has any correlation with the prevalence of chronic complications of diabetes. Materials and Methods: In a hospital-based cross-sectional study, 116 patients of newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes were enrolled. Ambulatory BP monitoring (ABPM) for 24 h duration was performed in all the study participants. The abnormal patterns of BP were analyzed. Results: Out of 100 patients with valid ABPM data, 62% of patients had masked hypertension, 45% had nondipping pattern, and 13% had reverse dipping pattern. The prevalence of diabetes complications both macrovascular and microvascular was significantly higher in patients who had abnormal dipping patterns. Conclusion: Our findings highlight the importance of ABPM which detects masked hypertension, white-coat hypertension, and abnormal BP patterns which are related to complications of diabetes
